Free Emergency Call Outs

To help those that are suffering hardship brought on by cost of living crisis, or other unexpected life event.

At IGR we understand first-hand that times can get tough, and money worries can pile up. Sometimes unexpected life events can bring on changes and challenges we never thought we would face.

As a self-employed small business owner myself, I know first-hand exactly how challenging this is. So many of us are feeling the pinch and worrying about money and the security of our jobs. Some of us have even lost our jobs – with no guarantees on what comes next. With this in mind, I want to do something to help and to give something back to my local community.

Therefore IGR is now offering FREE EMERGENCY CALL OUTS to those who are unable to pay for this service.

This will be offered to residential customers only in IGR’s local area of Sale and Altrincham. (Please contact me to check.) This free emergency call-out can apply to any emergency electrical issue – such as loss of power for heating, lighting and / or for cooking appliances. I will carry out the essential works needed to restore power, so that you and your family are not left cold, in the dark or unable to cook.

As a single Dad, I get it. I hate the fact that so many people are now worried about finding enough money to feed and look after their families, and I hope this offer will go some way to help people in our community.

Unfortunately, I can only give my own time – which I am sure you will appreciate is limited. Therefore any appointments will be subject to availability and I will choose clients at my discretion. Please note that in some cases, further work may be required after the power is restored and this is excluded from the offer. Materials will be chargeable.

ALL of the Free Emergency Call Outs will be carried out by myself (Peter)

(I also reserve the right to withdraw the offer at any time)

We take on jobs of all sizes, some commercial some domestic. But recently we had the please of working on a beautiful project in, Ollerton, Knutsford.

Most of the project was completed some time ago, and these fantastic pictures were taken by a professional photographer Justin more recently. The rooms and gardens are as beauty full as ever and without a doubt this is in part thanks to the Lighting Designs and newer the less the decor through out!

Without the doubt this is my favourite project and it was a pleasure to work with the owner Fiona ….

Fiona did an amazing job thinking through all the designs and decor of all the rooms, and with a little bit of a guidance that IGR provided she was able to complete the stunning home looking so glamorous that her home is now used for photo shoots and events!

Second most important part of service to the client here, was to provide them with reliable installation that would require minimal maintenance over time. We achieved this by using high quality LED lighting inside and literary outside! These provide long service life with minimum maintenance and are extremely energy efficient.

And to think all this started with 3 cabinet lights for vine display cabinet.

Here are some of the stunning images that were captured showing the lighting designs and their implementation.

Most of us have used HANDY MAN at some point for the odd job here and there. They were great, cost effective and the work is done.

But when is time to call in a skilled tradesman?

Anyone can replace the light switch, shower switch or light fitting…. Right?

Wrong! A qualified electrician will do more than just replace the shower switch when faulty!

Recently I was called out to faulty shower switch after the shower was replaced by the plumber. And he did a cracking job! Even more so because he told the owner to call me to check out the switch.

The switch was faulty, but there was another a lot more serious issue on the shower circuit! There was no over-current protection fitted on the shower at all. What does it mean? Well should you have a fault on shower circuit the cable could get easily overheated and start a fire! The only protection was the cut-out fuse for the whole house.

Picture of the device supplying the shower is attached! Looks all right doesn’t it? And I know that some electricians wouldn’t even notice the problem.

So be safe

Do not underestimate small jobs!

This is what handy man will be thinking when swapping Shower switch:

  1. where do i switch it off
  2. is it “dead”?
  3. red here black there job done….

Here is what goes through my mind:

  1. Why does the switch fail? Over heated due to loose connection? Is the cable damaged?
  2. Where do I switch it off? Is the circuit breaker correct size and type? Is the enclosure damaged? Is the circuit RCD protected (if needed)?
  3. Open the switch. Is it “dead”? Is the cable correct size? If it was overheating that caused damaged do i need to replace section of cable? Is the switch safely located? Then replace the switch.

All that took me no longer than it did the handy man… on top of that i will test the earthing and polarity at the shower….

Simple things like this can save your life!

My name is Peter Igrenyi and I am founder and the proprietor of small electrical contracting business IGR. (IGR standing for Intelligent, Green, Reliable)

I started in the industry after working with my Dad’ who was also an electrician, and I found something that i am passionate about. I do love my job and i believe that it gives me an edge over the competition. You can only be truly great at something if you love doing it!

It enjoy providing my customers with service that is ever so important as without electrical installations we would be unable to power up our precious devices (TVs, laptops and tablets like the one I’m using right now). But there is another aspect of my job that people may overlook or just simply do not realise. That is keeping clients safe in their home or work place! it is this part of electrical contracting that makes me proud to be an Electrician!

In my blogs I will try to educate the readers about the safety of electrical installations, i will try and give you useful tips on lighting at home and in the office (we do lighting designs as well after all) as well as energy saving tips and advice, and generally guide on how to keep things looking good and to stay safe.

It would be fantastic to interact with online community and i would be delighted to join the discussion to the blogs and try and answer any questions that you guys might have about lighting, power or electrical safety.

I will be posting the blogs to my website www.igrelectric.co.uk as well as Facebook page

www.facebook.com/igrelectric and the link will be Tweeted on @igrelectric
